This phone call provides an opportunity to connect with the client to share insights, hear about their training experience, and offer a sense of comfort ahead of your in-person meeting, if you're attending Celebration Saturday.

Here’s how it works:

You’ll use the phone number and date/time listed in the email you received from your Puppy Advisor to reach the client.

As clients keep up with a demanding schedule while training with our team and need to manage their dog’s care and preparation for the next day of training, these calls are limited to a maximum of 30 minutes.

Please Note:

• Do not share any personal or contact information during the call. Your contact details will be shared with the client approximately three months after graduation.

• Focus on positive, relevant topics to help maintain comfort and confidence in the conversation. Please avoid discussing health issues or behavioral challenges the pup may have worked through with you during puppyhood. Your dedication to the pup’s upbringing was invaluable to their success! However, it’s supportive to allow their new handler to focus on the capable adult dog they have by their side now.

What to talk about:

• Your Puppy Raising Journey: Share your experiences and proud moments as a puppy raiser. What fun places did you explore together? What were some of your proudest achievements and skills you learned with the pup?

• The Dog’s Personality: Talk about what they were like as a puppy. Were they outgoing, calm, or full of energy? Were they cuddly or very playful? Did they have any favorite games or toys?

• Daily Life and Socialization: Talk about the experiences the pup had in your home. Where did you often take them on outings? Were they around other pets or kids? These little details can help the client better understand their future companion’s background.

• Inquire About the Client: Ask how their training experience has been! Where have they worked together as a team so far? What are they most looking forward to with their new companion? Learning more about their lifestyle can help you both feel more connected.
