Assistant IT Manager – Smithtown, NY

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Assistant IT Manager is responsible for support of the IT infrastructure and operations for the organization. This role includes implementation / deployment and documentation, working with department leaders to assure that IT systems adequately support current and future business needs, and assist in overseeing all technology projects and operations to assure alignment with established goals. Support and educate our staff and program participants on our IT systems and policies. This position supervises Database and IT Specialist.

Essential Functions:

Work directly with departments to analyze and understand their business requirements and provide technology solutions and support to meet their needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify innovative digital solutions to enhance and advance our mission delivery to clients.
• Serve as an in-house technology systems, database, and reporting support engineer with an eye toward a more simplified end-user experience.
• Provide hardware / software / IT support and education for staff throughout the Organization and assist staff in becoming functionally independent.
• Manage technology operations and ensure reliable service levels according to established goals.
• Assist in devising and establishing IT policies and systems.
• Work in partnership with IT vendors to improve existing technology environment and functionality. 
• Assist in Identifying necessary upgrades, new configurations or new systems.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience as hands-on IT support. Non-profit or Membership Organization experience preferred.
• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus. iMIS database experience a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL systems and reporting preferred.
• Cloud and Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) experience.
• Microsoft 365/Office 365.
• Cyber Security training/experience required as well as an understanding of privacy security issues.
• Video Conferencing systems and communication applications (Polycom, Teams, Zoom, etc.).
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
• Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, cybersecurity, etc.
• Excellent organizational, negotiating, presentation, documentation and communication abilities 

Physical Demands
The employee is required to:
• stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor
• drive and/or travel
• lift 25 pounds and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally

Visual Acuity 
Near acuity and accommodation are required for ability to see and read text and copy of written materials such as instructions and manuals for assembly and operations for various office equipment.

Hearing Ability
Ability to interact with staff, public in an informal way or formal way during the business day.
 
Work Environment 
Employee is exposed to office, kennel, and residence environment. This includes animal hair and dander and cleaning and antibacterial cleaning solutions

Additional Info
The expected salary range for the position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year. The salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
